Let's see, what's going on? Eric and I are going to go to the Station on Thursday to reserve the room for the wedding. Eeeee! It'll be all official-like and stuff. Things are a bit different than I had expected - when I called yesterday, I found out that the rate had gone up a bit (not too bad) and that the deposit was double what I thought (instapanic activated), but then the guy told me that, so long as there was an active credit card on the account that they could charge if stuff got broken and the like, they could use the cash we give them on Thursday toward the rental itself, instead of as a security deposit (instapanic deactivated).

I talked to my mom last night, and it looks like I'll be heading down to Portland for the weekend of the Fourth. It'll be nice, because Eric'll be out of town and, well, the Fourth's always been kinda rough for me (see just about any other post on the Fourth of July in this journal). She's planning on driving me back and wants to see the place finally (instapanic *so* activated!). So, if you don't hear much from me in the next couple of weeks, it's because I'm frantically trying to make our home presentable. Fortunately, the thought of my mother seeing the place is pretty much enough to get Eric's and my asses in gear.

Back to work!

I can come do the kitchen if you want. Or even *ulp* the bathroom. Let me know if you want help. I actually enjoy cleaning other people's houses.

See, I'm not forcing our bathroom on anyone - I'll take care of that one (mostly because I kinda enjoy it, in a weird way...). The kitchen's not too bad, just the floor and the stove need taking care of (woo, grammar!), and I can trust Eric to that one. It's mostly the bedroom and living room. And finding the floor in those two rooms. *sigh* It can be done, but I may call you sometime next week if things get too bad.

Good luck!

Between you & me...

There's a reason we use a shop vac as our household vacum - it sucks up cat hair like no one's buisiness!

"I'm hoping to get myself angry enough about it [the apartment] that it'll overcome the panic, and I can do something."

Be careful what you wish for... ;) Even though it seems that panic has won out over anger nonetheless. On the other hand, yay for reserving the space! Chef wants to come, too, if you'll have him (and if he can get off work). Squee!

Well, DUH! I kinda figured he'd come, too.

The *next* thing to worry about is where to put everybody...

Well, he has a tent, so if need be we can just set up in the yard. That's what we did at the wedding this past weekend. Granted, they were huge hippies and holding the ceremony at a farm, so there was plenty of yard... ;)
