The old clamshell iBook finally bit the dust this weekend. Nothing scarier than "There are problems with your startup disk that Disk First Aid cannot fix", and having the thing freeze everytime you try to run Disk First Aid on it. Also, the painful whining sounds when it was trying to start up? Not so much with the good. Ah, well. It served me well through the thesis year, and I couldn't have asked for a better machine for that. Well, I probably could have, but details!
I went to CompUSA, knowing they would have something that I could use and knowing that I would need to be approved for financing, which would be the tricky part. Suffice it to say that I was pleasantly surprised to find that my credit did not, in fact, suck, as i was approved for more than I was expecting. So, yay new toy! It's so pretty...
Between that, doing some laundry and going through some boxes of clothes (we basically threw everything in boxes and decided that we would sort it out when we moved, rather than trying to sort it beforehand), and taking our rings in to the jewelers for the six-month check-up (part of the deal with the warranty is that the rings have to be checked out every six months, which is perfectly fine by me), it's been a reasonably productive weekend.
(Squee! New toy! Huzzah!)
