I didn't get the job. Back to the drawing board, I suppose.

How 'bout a tiny spot of cheerful news? I've got my membership for NorWesCon, plane tickets purchased, and hotel reservations made. And, I just got a confirm from the writers' workshop folks on who's critiquing the stories I submitted. So, you'll be able to put face to screen name in about six weeks.

Rockin'! I very much look forward to it. Are you staying at the Doubletree where the Con is being held? (We'll be there - it's just easier.)

We will have to figure out a when and where to meet up. :)

I've actually got a room at the SeaTac Marriott - it looks like it's about six blocks away, but with a nice walk. Since I'll be flying right into SeaTac, and staying so close, I'm thinking I won't even need a car. The only thing is visiting up with the other folks that are in the area - I may want to rent a car just so I can go to them if I want to, instead of having them come to me.

::hugs:: Funny story from a system with a bit less bureaucracy, but maybe it'll inspire a little hope. Chef had applied at a particular restaurant about two months ago, actually went in to cook for a one day trial, and never heard back from them. Three weeks ago he saw an ad for the same job at the same restaurant pop back up on Craigslist, so he just drove back to the restaurant to re-apply. They said "oh we'll call you back" etc (which apparently nobody in this town actually does), and by day 3 he just walked back in to force the guy to at least tell him in person that he didn't have the job. And he got the job. The moral being, persistence pays off, and if you've got the skills (which you do), the right company will recognize that.

I'm sorry for the poor company that didn't have the sense to get your help. For you, I'm sure you'll find an excellent position soon!
