How about with right now? I just got back from a couple of days on the Oregon coast with Matt, checking out the 50 miles of sand dunes that are devouring a pine forest (!) on the coast. We wandered around those for a few hours, and went to the beach, and all that fun stuff. We originally were making this a trek to see one of the coolest neo-swing bands around, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, for which we had bought tickets and about which we were extremely excited. Today, around the 3/4 mark on our journey, I called the info line to find out where we had to go to pick up the tickets. Only to find out that the concert was yesterday.
We were not amused.
We spent the rest of the trip slowly accustoming ourselves to the fact that we would not, in fact, be seeing BBVD. This led to many screams of frustration in the car, along with listening to the BBVD CD we had and mourning. Dah.
On the upside, it was still a beautiful weekend. And now there are concrete plans to go to Matt's hometown over the Fourth of July.
Hoo, boy. It's ok, it's all good, it'll give me something to keep my mind off of Dad, right?
