So I'm sitting at my desk typing this on my laptop. Anyone who's seen my room this past semester should realize that this is...odd. The important thing is that I can *find* my desk once more.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it's that time of year again, where everything goes in boxes and I'm reminded once more of just how much crap I own. The difference this time is that I have some help moving out, because my brother and sister-in-law and niece are in town. And the reason why they're in town is because in approximately 20 hours or so, I will be receiving my BA.

Graduation's tomorrow. I'll officially be an alumna as of tomorrow. It's bad enough that I'm a civilian now (weeeeeeird), but now my status as a student is getting thrown out the window as well. I'm having a bit of a hard time dealing with this.

Fortunately, I've been able to effectively pass along my own little legacy amongst the dorm. Beyond the bubbles, that is. The Official Cheer-Up Spider Monkey is now in the responsible hands of Elie, who will be an HA next year for Sub-Free. This monkey has given joy and smiles to many a Sub-Freer the past two years, and I feel that he is now in good hands. So, some little part of me will live on in the dorm, I think.

I don't know that I can write much more right now - it helps to be busy packing to distract oneself. People in the Portland area, graduation is tomorrow starting at 11am on Reed's front lawn under the big white tent. It's hard to miss. I'll be dead last of the bachelor's recipients. Meh, it happens.

When I graduated from college, I was in my hometown - I'd been raised in Milwaukee, but most of my family was in Madison, so for me, going to the UW-Madison was like being home for the first time in my life.

I can't say that I really know what is happening to you now. I graduated into a different world, sitting in the midst of my safety net.

I hope all is well with you. While I had safety around me when I got my magic BA, you have to take a much bigger leap than I did. I wish you well on the leap, and hope that you jump far, and land soft.

- Eric

(Note me using a serious user pic for this one. That means that I'm being serious here, unlike my shameless flirtation.)
