Well, Ma and I survived the fourth and fifth, though how I'm not quite sure. We had a Steve Martin movie marathon on the fourth, watching Portland's fireworks on tv that night. (Do they always have to play "God Bless the USA" and the military themes? Why not just throw the bagpipes version of "Amazing Grace" and "The Ballad of the Green Berets" in there and ensure Ma and I will burst into tears, eh?) On the fifth we went to a casino, where I did reasonably well. Woo, nickel and 2-cent slots! :)
Applied for work the last couple of days. Here's hoping something will come up, because I can't take this doing-nothing crap anymore. Ma and I had a serious discussion about grad schools, and she said she'll support me any way she can if that's what I want to do. Woo! The plan's becoming slightly more solid.
Yesterday, saw "Charlie's Angels" with Erin. We spent money on that. That's really all I have to say about it. Then, Thai food at her friend Liz's place and lots of Buffy. Finally got to see the "Hush" episode after having read about it. Good shtuff, overall.
I had a major revelation on Saturday that I didn't want to die. You wouldn't think this would be such an awe-inspiring concept, but, then again, it is me. A pretty good feeling, that, while diminished, still seems to be floating around.
And now, to attempt sleep. Or reading or somesuch.
